EPL Survival Sunday Review and Champions League Preview Podcast: Hold the Back Page!

Hold the BackPage - Everyone to Juve by bpfootball

The Hold the Back Page podcast is one of the best football podcasts on the Internet. Run in conjunction betweenSetanta Sports and Back Page Football, the podcast has rapidly built up something of a cult following amongst football fans across Ireland, England, Australia and the US.
This week, regulars Tom Fox, Ger McCarthy and Neil Sherwin were joined by EPL Featured Columnist and Premier League Report's Willie Gannon to discuss all things Premier League, Champions League, and Survival Sunday with a couple of weird stats thrown in for good measure!
Part one saw the pod talk about a busy Survival Sunday in the Premier League with Blackpool and Birmingham City joining West Ham in the drop zone at the end of the 38 games. Willie followed up his weekend BR article with some more thoughts on the relegated sides, while Neil explains why he just doesn’t feel the Ian Holloway love.
Part 2 of the show sees the first official Hold the BackPage Awards and there are plenty of differing opinions around the table.
The pod gave their thoughts on the best and worst of the EPL season 2010/'11 and talked a little about those little moments that meant so much at the time but now seem so far in the past.
Neil, a fervent Man City fan, voted with his heart and his head, while Ger could possibly be mistaken for a closet Manchester United fan with his selections! And Tom seems to have gotten it into his head that Turin and Juve is the destination of choice this summer for all the major players...Yep, it was news to everyone else too!
The only subject worthy of wrapping up the show is of course the Champions League Final with thoughts and predictions given on Saturday’s big showdown at Wembley.
Man Utd fans beware, the pod were split right down the middle on this one and some of the tactical talk didn't fare too well for the Red Devils.
Elsewhere on the pod, the crew give their opinions on the manager of the season, player of the season, the best and worst signings of the year, and what moments really stood out for them as football fans.
