Middlesbrough beat Liverpool 2-0 at the Riverside today to all but end their slim chance of catching and overtaking Manchester United at the summit of the English Premier League, and with Chelsea winning 2-1 against Wigan it now looks as if the Anfield side will have a real battle on their hands for the second place spot.
